Hi, if I'm not wrong, I believe there were some warnings about excessive
leeching of electric power from the convention centre for EclipseCon
2008. Does the same rule apply for ESE 2008? Will there be power strips
laid out around the vicinity? Will there be wireless?

Remy,
last year there weren't any "official" power plugs at the symposia. If
you manage to get a seat near a power outlet you should be able to use
it. Don't forget to bring an adapter (if memory serves you live in
North America, right?)!
See you in Ludwigsburg (I'll attend the Automotive Symposium and of
course the rest of the conference).
