Hi, everybody!
I casually encountered an ability of Virgo to work with unpacked bundles. It seems to me I didn't see a description of this ability anywhere in the documentation. Somebody knows is this an expected feature or some kind of side effect? Because unpacked bundles cause a serious performance decrease. Maybe there is a need for writing some bug report about this, isn't it?

This new capability is described in the Virgo 3.6.0 release notes, which also point to the User Guide for more information.

What kind of performance impact are you seeing?

After I unpacked all bundles in the user repository (168 bundles), performance was decreased in 2,5 times. The situation is absolutely artificial made and in real development nobody will do like I. But there is an additional workload with unpacked bundles, what is very unlogical for me

I agree it's not expected. Please could you be more specific about what performance was decreased. Was it startup, application deployment, application request processing, or some combination?

After unpacking only WAB

After unpacking all user repository (168 bundles)
Installing WAB: 22s
Starting WAB: 4m46s

Test of working performance:
Befor unpackin repository: 0:27:09

Thanks. I don't know why request pathlength should increase so much. I guess it's mostly file IO. Unfortunately this is a bit of a strange scenario, so I doubt we'll have time to investigate it. I'll mention it to the other committers so that we can bear it in mind though.
