Unzip of Eclipse4.2 64 bit fails [message #890050]

I just downloaded Eclipse 4.2 and tried to unzip it with Winzip, which failed with the log message:

CRC check failed
Error: Unable to extract "C:\Users\ChrisGage\Downloads\Eclipse42\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.osgi.source_3.8.0.v20120312-2035.jar".

The size of the extracted file (1158054) does not match the uncompressed size (1157992) recorded in the Zip file

Interrupted

The filename I downloaded is: eclipse-SDK-4.2M6-win32-x86_64.zip

I am using Windows 7 Professional SP1

Am I doing something wrong?

I tried this about six months ago, and again about three months ago and both times I got the same result. I don't NEED Eclipse 4 yet, I was just going to try the new RCP stuff.

The latest download is RC4 not M6. You should test the new RCP stuff with this http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/S-4.2RC4-201206081400/ build.

The cyclic redundancy error may have had a lot of causes (error during download for example) but anyway try RC4 as it should be OK.

I got the same result with that file. Would it be just a coincidence that both files downloaded incorrectly? Or is there something wrong with my Winzip, or my Internet Service?

You can try the torrent version as it's downloaded through a different protocol or try another mirror but I highly doubt this has anything to do with Eclipse.

Chris, when I look at eclipse-SDK-4.2RC4-win32-x86_64.zip (191746913 bytes) I see:

bash$ unzip -v eclipse-SDK-4.2RC4-win32-x86_64.zip | grep osgi.source_
1160032 Defl:N 1082447 7% 06-08-12 15:55 7590a5ea eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.osgi.source_3.8.0.v20120529-1548.jar

unzipping it, I see:
bash$ ll org.eclipse.osgi.source_3.8.0.v20120529-1548.jar
-rw-rw-r-- 1 pwebster common 1160032 2012-06-08 15:55 org.eclipse.osgi.source_3.8.0.v20120529-1548.jar

When you tried WinZip on RC4, do any of those look like the numbers you saw?
