Hi,

Just to make sure: is there any support for search in the generated plugins? I mean, the kind that can be used with the org.eclipse.search.searchPages extension point.

I can't find anything about that, so I guess the answer is no, but it might also be well-hidden.

If not, is it something that can be considered for future development? Or maybe there is too little genericity?

best regards,
Vlad

I assume you could create a working set with the generated plugins and
use the standard search facilities for that purpose. What else would you
expect? Maybe I'm missing your point here.

Regards,
Sebastian

I suppose I expressed myself badly. I meant a search for elements in my language, where I could for example enter an ID, check for a "class" or "feature" and get a list of all the items with a matching name.

Vlad

Are you aware of the "open model element" dialog (shift-ctrl-F3)? Everything in the index can be found there.

Ah, thank you Alex! I thought that one was only searching Xtext rules, or something like that. It's not a perfect match for the search (where one can specify more parameters for the search), but it's good enough (at least until users want more Smile). Shouldn't this feature be documented?

I'm not sure if I asked this before, but am I the only one that gets confused by the fact that the xtext plugin contains both API for languages to use/implement/extend and internal xtext suff? There is some separation with the xtext.xtext packages, but it's not complete.

regards,
Vlad
