Dear Program Committee,
Greetings. My name is Tony Lam from the Australian Nuclear Science and
Technology Organisation. Our scientific computing group is one of the most
active Eclipse development team among the scientific community. In 2005, we
have promoted the Eclipse technology to a number of scientific institutes
around the world, and we have generated interest of using Eclipse for
scientific computing. As the result, we believe a number of scientific
programmers from US and Europe will attend in this year's annual Eclipse
conference.
As part of the EclipseCON 2006, I would like to ask seek for some level of
support for the scientific community. As I remember from last year's
EclipseCON, BoF session, forum session, and table discussion (during lunch)
have successfully created channels of communication for different developer
groups. To this end, I would like the program committee to help us on
setting up similar opportunity so that we can attract individual scientific
programmer (or other interested party) to join our scientific Eclipse user
group. In my opinion, this will have positive effect on accelerating the
adoption of Eclipse for the scientific community. I'm looking forward for
your response if you would like to help us. Thank you for your attention.
Kind Regards,
Tony Lam
Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation
