Hi,
The Hotel fact sheet on the eclipsecon website says there is *free*
high-speed internet access in all guest rooms, but the website says
there is high-speed wireless access available in all rooms for $9.95/day.
Does anyone know for sure which one of these statements is correct (or
are they both correct)?
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi,
I have received an email (see below) from EclipseCon just a few hours ago -
it looks like an internet access is going to be free. Please read for
yourself to be sure.

Evgueni.

Dear Evgueni,
EclipseCon 2005 is just days away and I'm sure you're looking forward to it
as much as we are. I thought I'd send you this one last email to cover a
few last details.
TRAVEL DETAILS
As you know, EclipseCon is being held in the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame,
California.
http://sanfranciscoairport.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml
The Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport Hotel is located just 5 minutes from
the San Francisco Int'l Airport. There is a complimentary shuttle that runs
every 10-15 minutes from the airport to the hotel. You do not need to call
or make reservations. Just look for the Hyatt/Marriott shuttle.
REGISTRATION
The conference is 100% sold out which means that there are going to be a lot
of us there, milling about. It also means that if you wait until 7:50am on
Tuesday morning to pick up your name badge, you're going to miss the
beginning of Tim O'Reilly's keynote. I strongly suggest that you pick up
your badge Sunday from 3-7pm or Monday to avoid the rush.
If you follow my advice and pick up your badge by Monday afternoon, then you
can enjoy the Monday evening Eclipse Trivia Game. To quote our website
"Better than an FAQ, this is your chance to demonstrate your mastery of
Eclipse trivia. The fun begins on Monday evening at 20:00. Our thanks to
Borland for their generous support!" Prizes will be awarded, but you must
have a badge to get in.
INTERNET ACCESS
The Hyatt has agreed to provide free wireless to all EclipseCon attendees
during the conference. This will be accomplished through two different
SSIDs. There will be one SSID that covers the keynotes, technical sessions,
tutorials, BoFs, etc. A second SSID will cover the guest rooms and the
lunch area/atrium. The second SSID is powered by T-Mobile. Guests will be
given an access code card at the Hotel Front Desk when they check in.
There will not be an "internet caf

I'm also not staying at the hyatt and as I understand it,
then you have to pay if you want to have access outside the
sessions-rooms

Well...the last-mintue details email said there are going to be 2
SSID's. I am assuming that is because the "guest rooms and lunch area"
network provided by T-Mobile, requires authentication from paying
guests, and the conference area will be free to all attendees - like
last year. I'm sure Bjorn can clear this point up.
Mark.

Thanks, Bjorn. I got the email right after I posted this... I think I
prefer the "free" option. ;o) Thanks for arranging it!
