I used to think this term just used by a few companies, but then found
it defined in wikipedia!

So, it must be a legitimate term, right? (ha ha).
In WTP we like to have a smoke test before declaring a build, just to
make sure nothing really odd happened that would make it embarrassing to
announce to the world ... that the build is ready for further testing.
