Problem with date parameter when not required selected [message #364922]

I have created a parameter which lets you select a date using a dynamic
list from a dataset to populate it. I have set the data type to date.

If the date is set to "is required" I get a list of dates from the
database and all is ok. But if the required box is not ticked then the
drop down list includes a "Null value" option which works fine as well.

But it also adds a blank value. If the blank value is selected then an
error is generated complaining the value is not a date.

Can I stop this behaviour so only the Null value is added to the list of
choices?
