I am forced to use Eclipse Indigo (3.7) on Solaris 10/SPARC as the latest one, Eclipse Juno, has some bug regarding X-Window-system. The download I pointed to is a Java IDE. How can I install CDT on Elipse Indigo (3.7) on SPARC to get started with C/C++ development?

You have to download the Platform Runtime firstly
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.7.2-201202080800/solPlatform.php#PlatformRuntime
Then you have to add the CDT plugins manually from within Eclipse: Menu => Help->Install New Software...

How does Platform Runtime and Eclipse SDK differ? In fact I am using the SDK package.

Also the system I am using is not connected to Internet for security reason. Is there any method to download the CDT plugin offline to a machine connected to Internet and get it transferred to my Eclipse system?

The Eclipse SDK includes the Eclipse Platform, Java development tools, and Plug-in Development Environment, including source and both user and programmer documentation.

Get the master.zip from http://www.eclipse.org/cdt/downloads.php and follow the instructions.

I have downloaded appropriate master.zip, but unable to find any instruction. What next?

Well, I found it. Eclipse provides an option to installed plugins from local archives also. Though I couldn't install the CDT plugin because of two of its dependencies being absent.
