All I'm doing is selecting sample.xml and selecting Run As... input for
JET transformation.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this a problem with my
combination of versions?

I upated to the JET 0.7.2 release, and it looks like its working now. I
had originally downloaded the version 0.8.0 archive, but the plugins in
that archive had a version of 0.7.1.
