If I enable "Display Latest Branch Commit" in the Git Repositories view, I see the latest commit but it's not formatted as specified by the 'Team -> Git -> Label Decorations -> Other' preference for commits. Instead it seems to be hardwired to display the SHA and the short-message.

Is there a preference somewhere else that lets me configure this? If not, probably the commits preference should be followed here.
