In my projects I have a lot of read-only files and am facing two problems.

1)
First of all, I would like to mark read-only files in the project explorers view. Either as label decoration, different file icon or font modifications of the file's name, etc.

My search for a read only decoration brought me to this example, however I could not find a standard decorator nor a marketplace plugin

2)
In case I accidentally edit a read-only file and don't want to change its read-only attribute, I only get the message "File X is readonly!" and I did not find a way except closing and reopening the file to view its context again. Refresh doesn't work and other suggestions I found while searching don't seem to be part of the context menu anymore.

I don't know of such a plug-in. You would have to implement it yourself.

Not exactly sure what you mean with "context". What I see (using the
Text or Java Editor), is the file/content after I click 'No' on the dialog.

Well I only see a blank page with the specified message. No lines of code...
And I am using Juno.

I thought this is the standard behaviour...

Also note, that I only have the C/C++ edition, so I hope it's not only a CDT issue then?

It seems to be a problem with the VSS plugin (can be found at vssplugin.sourceforge.net). When I tried to reproduce it with a little sample, I found it working just like I expected...

Regarding 1) any ideas?
