Yes this is possible. If you are using 3.7.2 or greater you may want to
look at the crosstab report item with a relative time period aggregation.

If you using a table you could add a group that is not shown and then
add an aggregation element that aggregates by group. You would not
display this aggregate but you could add to its expression to store it
in prevmonth js var which you would display in the table. If you need
help with this approach post the data in the xls file and I will mock up
a quick example for you.
