Hi All,

I have created a sample application in e4. Now, I want to convert this into eclipse RAP. can any one help me with a brief step by step procedure for this migration.

Hi,

RAP does currently not support Eclipse 4 application. You have to develop an Eclipse 3.x app to use RAP.

Hi Lars,

Scope:- Need to develop an Application both in Standalone as well as Web based.

So, We have choosen Eclipse RCP/RAP, to minimize our development time.

R&D :-
I have created a Standalone RCP Application using PlugIn Development Project in Eclipse 4.2 (Juno). Facing some issues while converting RCP to RAP (Web Application).

Question :-
1. Can i convert RCP Application (Plug-In Project) created in (Eclipse 4.2 (Juno)) to RAP.
2. If so then how much changes i may need to do in the RCP source.
3. Which is better, either Eclipse 3.7 (Indigo) or Eclipse 4.2 (Juno)
4. Pros and Cons between Eclipse 3.7 (Indigo) and Eclipse 4.2 (Juno) with respect to RCP/RAP

Half a year later but I'll will reply anyway. At the moment E4 and RAP are incompatible and I don't see this happen in the near future.
If you really need single sourcing RCP, RAP compatibility you should not use E4.
