Hi RAP Team,

I would like know if you are working again on the Eclipse E4 and RAP or if this project is given? For the moment I'm using Eclipse RCP 3.7 because RAP seems not support well Eclipse E4, but I tell me if you have the intention to work about taht?

I know it's a big work but IMHO I think it's very important to support Eclipse E4 because it seems than next version of Eclipse (Juno) will be based on Eclipse E4. It should be fantastic that RAP supports Eclipse E4 too and use too the Eclipse E4 CSS engine (which is less powerfull than RAP CSS engine I think).

Hi Angelo,

for RAP 1.5 we decided to focus on the ability to support alternative
RAP clients by changing the client/server protocol (bug 311355), on
improving support for lightweight and more web-like RAP applications
(i.e. applications that doesn't use the workbench) and some other
features that we consider equally important for the future of RAP. For
details, see the RAP 1.5 plan [1].

With this plan, we won't have time to actively work on E4 support in
this release cycle. We will, however, support any efforts to enable or
improve E4 on RAP. Contributions are welcome, if there is interest, we
could open an incubator project for this.

I think that E4 can be an interesting platform for RAP applications, as
it solves many of the problems that we used to have with the old
workbench. However, there are still some blockers on the E4 side, such
as bug 309868.

Hi Ralf,

Many thanks for your reply. I understand that you are very busy with another Threads. I would like just know the E4 RAP state. I would like tell you that I'm very impressed with RAP! Our Resume RAP/RCP application for XDocReport progress a lot and I'm very impressive with RAP capability. If you are interested, you can see basic screen at http://code.google.com/p/xdocreport/wiki/EclipseRAPRCP and we are working to set the RAP application in the cloud. Ass soon as we will do that, I will send you in your RAP forum the link to play with the application (manage Resume and generate REsume report).
