Hello,
I downloaded the MemoryAnalyzer-1.1.0.20110523-aix.motif.ppc.zip and installed it on AIX 6.1, which is 64-bit, running WAS 6.1.0.35 64-bit as well. We need to parse a 4.5 GB heap dump from 64-bit WAS jvm.
I tried to use MAT with the IBM JDK that came with WAS and I get the below error:
Could not load module /usr/WebSphere64/AppServer/java/jre/bin/j9vm/libjvm.so.
The module has an invalid magic number.

Is the MAT for aix.motif 32-bit only? If not then how do I configure MAT to get past this error?

Hi,

You can try using the <mat>/ParseHeapDump.sh script to parse the heap dump. Just call it like this:
./ParseHeapDump.sh <heap_dump>
Once it is parsed you should be able to work on it with the memory you can get from a 32bit jdk.

BTW, this forum has been moved about one year ago (as MAT moved to a different parent project at Eclipse). It should be impossible to post here Smile
