How do you integrate existing 3.5 RCP views into a Modeled UI? [message #566457]

Hi,

I love Modeled UI, it would be particularly useful for designing the app
layout and std parts, if you could integrate GMF developed designers and
more complex parts within the e4 Modeled UI app layout. In addition if I
could grab an Editor part generated from EMF and reference that from
within Application.xmi that would really help. But it is unclear to me
whether this is possible. Is it possible?

Even if we had to 'wrap' the 3.5 part in a layer that made it satisfy
any e4 specific interface required may be an acceptable approach.

There's a lot of IEditorPart lifecycle that is not currently supported
in the 1.0 e4 work we're doing. I'll be working with Boris to start
enhancing the compatibility layer more with what is needed to support
3.x views and editors.

On of the deliverables for 1.0 is to host a clean 3.x editor or view in
a modeled workbench (for some value of "clean" :-)
