Hello all,

I use p2 update mechanism in my feature based eclipse product. It seems that after migration to HELIOS Release there is a new dependency to org.eclipse.workbench.texteditor. At least when removing this plugin the "Install New Software" and "Check for Updates" contributions disappear.

When adding this plugin to my App I get some new and unwanted menu contributions, like 'Last Edit Location".

Is there a way to prevent this? Does anyone know about this problem?

Any help is highly appreciated.

I've noticed this, too. Looks like org.eclipse.equinox.p2.ui.sdk depends on org.eclipse.compare which in turn depends on several bundles including org.eclipse.ui.workbench.texteditor. Not only does this end up adding a dozen or so MB to our RCP app, but it also causes all kinds of unwanted contributions to appear. Hope there is a workaround for this!

Same here, this is really annoying... A work-around has been proposed here that involves copying and modifying the org.eclipse.equinox.p2.ui.sdk plugin.
