own update site: "software install" not showing features / website does ... ? [message #480070]

Hello,

i created an update site for our tools/features. When I look into the
(additionally created) website I can see all features. When I try to use
the "install software" menu from eclipse it (sometimes) does not show
(all) features.

The same applies for a local access (without the webserver). And "f5"
(for a refresh) didn't help.

What is processed during the "install software" action when an update
site is checked? Beside the web page there is a content.jar,
artifacts.jar - is this generated every time the build process is restartet?

The problem seems to be related to the categories - if I disable them in
the update process all plugins are shown. Nevertheless I defined
correctly (?) the categories and the corresponding/additional website
shows them correctly - but not the update manager?

Ralf, I would open a bug against p2: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=Equinox& amp;component=p2 and attach your site.xml (or whatever is generating your categories).

I noticed the same thing recently and asked about it on the Equinox
group: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=152207

I think I'll enter a bug since there was no response that actually helped.
