Eclipse will not start [message #266836]

Hiya,

I have recently decided to get my laptop up and working with Eclipse but I
just can't seem to get it the little guy to work. Here is a screen shot of
the error I am getting on start up:

I am using:
Eclipse 3.4.1
JDK 6 Update 10
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit - SP1 (UAC off)

Is there something I might have done wrong here? Any help would be greatly
appreciated. So thanks in advance.

You are on a 64-bit computer. The screenshot shows arch is x86. Are you
using a 32-bit JRE?

As far as I am aware it was the 64 bit version, the exact name of the
installer is jdk-6u10-windows-x64.exe and upon starting it again it does
indeed say it is the 64 bit version of the JDK.

Perhaps it is the 64-bit version of the JRE, but the 32-bit version of
Eclipse?

Try using a 32-bit JRE...
