As far as I am aware it was the 64 bit version, the exact name of the
installer is jdk-6u10-windows-x64.exe and upon starting it again it does
indeed say it is the 64 bit version of the JDK.

Perhaps it is the 64-bit version of the JRE, but the 32-bit version of
Eclipse?
