This is under Eclipse 3.3.2 and TPTP Platform 4.4.1 & TPTP Tracing and
Profiling Tools v. 4.3.1 with Sun's Java v. 1.5 . . .
Under Ubuntu and profiling a local application I'm getting the errors:
org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException
Agent Controller is unavailable under port 10002 . . .
and
java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.eclipse.tptp.platform.iac.administrator.internal.startst op.
AutoStartStop.hasProcessTerminated(AutoStartStop.java:275) . . .
Since there's no configuration with the IAC, where do I go from here?
Thank you!]]>2008-03-30T22:43:51-00:00Re: Agent Controller is unavailable . . .

I think that you are running wrong configuration.

Well, in the Profile Dialog, in Attach to Agent, I get a pop-up error:
"An internal error occurred during: Fetching children of host"
java.lang.NullPointerException
and there are no agents listed under the Agents tab.
So . . . ????]]>2008-03-31T07:06:44-00:00Re: Agent Controller is unavailable . . .

Have you read link i gave you ?
If you choose Attach to agent - that means that you must already start
standalone Agent Controller (not IAC) and profiling or other agent.
If you want to use IAC - then you must choose profile application.]]>2008-03-31T10:47:22-00:00Re: Agent Controller is unavailable . . .

Ubuntu is a bit incompatible with TPTP Agent Controller's startup scripts.
ACStart.sh script uses /bin/sh and bash is implied.
Ubuntu has other default shell (dash?). You can or modify ACStart.sh to
use bash or map /usr/sh to bash.

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=224471.
As a workaround you can startup IAC before profiling
(Window/Preferences/Agent Controller/Hosts/"Test Connection" menu item) or
use standalone AC as well.]]>Igor Alelekov2008-04-01T07:25:12-00:00Re: Agent Controller is unavailable . . .

Of course IAC also can be used in attaching scenario.
You just need to startup it before with "Test Connection" or any another
activity. IAC wiil be launched automatically.]]>Igor Alelekov2008-04-01T07:31:08-00:00
