Eclipse Community Forumsintegrate birt RE into RCP product
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/287927/794163/#msg_794163
I wanna use BIRT report engine in my RCP application to create a PDF report. The product is based on features. Can anyone tell me how to integrate BIT runtime into by RCP product (what features and plugins)? For sure there exist features already I may can use, but watching the features added to IDE seems that I can't integrate RE only without designer engine and editors...
What am I thinking wrong?
I want to create my own targetPlatform containing only the minimum of plugins/features needed for RE.
Or do I have to pack an own feature/plugin containing all the JARs of birt-runtime.zip?
Thx

you need from the designer or using the pojo runtime in the runtime
download. I posted some api examples on birt exchange. There are a
couple of rcp apps in the workspace that use the viewer or the report
engine api. These example were based on 2.6 but should still work on 3.7.
Note that this example does not include anything from the designer, just
the core birt plugins and the viewer plugin
