Eclipse Community Forumseclipse broke (can't open editor)
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/164217/519982/#msg_519982
I'm running eclipse 3.5.1 on Ubuntu 9.10 and trying to use eclipse to write / debug php, c++, and JAVA programs. I was setting up C++ projects and everything seemed OK for a few hours, but the last time I exited eclipse and restarted it I get this message:
Could not open the editor: The editor class could not be instantiated. This usually indicates a missing no-arg constructor or that the editor's class name was mistyped in plugin.xml.
If I open the php perspective and my first php test script it works fine. I just can't seem to open .cpp files any more.
Help, please...
William

First, read the "sticky" topic at the top of this forum group titled
"Linux + Eclipse users, read this!"
If that doesn't help, look in the Error Log view to see if there are any
relevant-looking errors reported there. It might help to clear the log,
then re-start Eclipse to reproduce the problem.
If you can't make sense of what you see in the Error Log, you can post
it here (or portions of it); the .log file lives in the .metadata/
directory under your workspace directory.
Hope this helps,
