Eclipse Community ForumsWhat the impact of changing applied UML profile
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/151011/474984/#msg_474984
I have an UML model with applied Profile. Latter on, I added an additive
stereotype into the profile, and installed updated profile plugin with
same pathmap value in Eclipse by doing "software installation and
updates". After I opened the model, what should I expect?
Thanks!

.... well if I understand this question correctly, you should expect to be
able to use the newly created stereotype ... if you've re-defined your
profile and re-applied the profile.

hasn't been deleted, the model should open without any problems. Reapplying
the (new definition of the) profile will migrate any existing data to the
new Ecore definition and make the new data structures (stereotypes, classes,
properties) available for use in the model.
