It's extremley interesting and not even for debugging.
Do you plan to contribute to jface to create some "generic"
asynch/multitheaded viewers and/or content providers ?

This is a good question. Darin Wright from the platform debug team is
involved in the DSF discussions, but we haven't discussed what parts of
DSF might be useful in the platform. It's still fairly new.
I suggest you email platform-debug-dev to discuss your technical needs.
I'm not sure if Darin reads this newsgroup.
