Goal

test new functionality added since 3.3 M5
verify that severe bugs are correctly fixed
sanity check performance

Test New Functionality

First test all those items where you are listed as first tester.

Test Open Type dialog (Dani, Martin - FAQ: Markus)

verify that history and workspace matches are correct when projects are opened, closed, switched from source to binary
sanity check UI (multiple selection, working set filters, ...)

Test Import/Export of JUnit test runs (Karsten, Martin - FAQ: Markus)

verify that they look the same after import

Addition to " test folders inside JARs": test IJarEntryResources (Dani, Karsten - FAQ: Markus)

open editors on non-java files in jars (*.txt, *.properties, plugin.xml, ...)
verify editor tooltips, rendering in Package Explorer, status line

Test new execution environment selection UI on the 'new Java project wizard' (Dani, Markus - FAQ: Martin)

test that it works
test around execution environments

Test workspace relative Javadoc locations (Karsten, Dani - FAQ: Martin)

open Javadoc attachment location dialog. The archive location can be a external or workspace path

Test folders inside JARs, especially folders that are directly under the JAR (not inside a package) (Dani, Karsten - FAQ: Martin)

Test new UI on Error/Warning preference page: 'Null references' has been split in 'Null references', 'Potential null references' and 'Redundant null references' (Markus , Dani - FAQ: Martin)

Test 'Java type decorator' performance (Markus, Dani - FAQ: Martin)

Test 'Spaces for Tabs' in Text, Java, Ant and PDE editor (Martin, Markus - FAQ: Dani)

test that the Java editor works as before when it comes to inserting spaces for tabs
test that the new preference on the 'Text Editors' page works for Text, Ant and PDE editor

Test opening of external files (Martin, Karsten - FAQ: Dani)

test files that have a corresponding Eclipse editor (e.g. test.java)
test files that have no corresponding Eclipse editor (e.g. foo.xyz)
test opening an 'Untitled Text File'

Test 'Show Tool Tip Description' (F2) in Text, Java, Ant and PDE editor (Martin, Karsten - FAQ: Dani)

test that F2 gives focus to existing hovers
test that the 'F2' hint is shown according to the preference on the 'Text Editor' page
in the Java editor, if no hover is present, test that F2 opens a window with the hover's content
