Updates to Eclipse Foundation Associate
Membership Fees
The Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors unanimously approved a new fee structure for all new and renewing for-profit Associate members. No fee changes for any other classes of membership, including not-for-profit Associate members, have been made.
The for-profit Associate member fees are now tiered based on the aggregate corporate revenues, which brings them in line with fees from other classes of membership. This change in fees goes into effect July 1, 2022, and the membership website will be updated at that time. All members that are affected by this change in fees have been contacted directly by our membership coordination team.
The updated for-profit Associate annual membership fees are now:
The Eclipse Foundation recently launched a new Member Portal, which offers member organizations new insights into their participation in the Eclipse community. Find out about working groups and projects your organization is involved in, and access resources curated for members. The portal also allows member representatives to update key membership data, including their:

Primary contacts
All member representatives are encouraged to log in to the portal. If you have any problems, please contact membership coordination for assistance.
This survey is the first of its kind, combining previous initiatives to more accurately collect information from developers focused on IoT and edge computing technologies, as well as enterprise trends.
Planned Modernization of the
Eclipse Foundation IP Process
The Foundation staff continues to work towards making enhancements to our Intellectual Property (IP) Policy and Due Diligence Process. The overall goal is to align our policies and practices with evolving expectations and modernize supporting infrastructure. With these changes, we’re leveraging new technologies to automate processes to reduce the burden on committers while improving the overall quality of intellectual property due diligence.
Mike Milinkovich and Wayne Beaton recently briefed members on the proposed updates via a teleconference call, which was recorded. These changes are being introduced over the coming months, so please be sure to view the video and participate in the discussion via Eclipse Help Desk Issue 1194.
As a reminder, the EFSP was updated in late 2021 clarifying the default choice of Implementation Patent License for all specifications. These revisions to the Working Group Process further clarify how the patent license regime to be used by working groups is selected with the net result of simplifying the selection of patent licensing regime for new working groups.
For more information regarding either of these processes or the recent changes, please contact emo@eclipse.org.
