Nominations for Board of Directors Election Now Open
Nominations for the 2022 Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors elections are now open.
Elected representatives, which include both Contributing Members and Committee Members, play a vital role in the Eclipse governance process, providing insight into the opinions of the broader membership on the issues they face. All eligible members are encouraged to participate. Visit the elections webpage to learn more about the duties and responsibilities of elected directors.
The Eclipse Foundation marketing team is here to help you connect and communicate with the Eclipse community. Working together, we can communicate the value of open source, increase awareness of the technologies available, and create connections around the world.
January marks the beginning of the European Commission’s call for research projects season (see Horizon Europe). The Eclipse Foundation has partnered with many publicly funded research projects since 2013, and we’re hoping to help even more organizations successfully create, publish, and sustain open source software platforms in 2022.
If you would like to discuss an upcoming proposal, contact us at research@eclipse.org.
You can also learn more about the projects we have partnered with and how we support them at eclipse.org/research.

The Eclipse IDE Working Group was formed to ensure the continued sustainability, integrity, evolution, and adoption of the Eclipse IDE suite of products and related technologies. It provides governance, guidance, and funding for communities supporting delivery of the Eclipse Foundation’s flagship “Eclipse IDE” products.
While the Eclipse IDE has been around for over 20 years, this new working group is established to bring together member organizations and sponsors who see the continued vitality of the IDE as critical to their business operations. The working group provides focused guidance, governance, and funding to support the delivery of the “Eclipse IDE” products.
As its first action, the working group has funded the hiring of a dedicated SimRel Release Engineer. Its Planning Council is also prioritizing development initiatives valuable to the broader IDE ecosystem. Member organizations who rely on the IDE are encouraged to either join as a member or sponsor the work done by the working group.
