Annual Community Report Released
The Eclipse Foundation has released its Annual Community Reportfor 2021, which covers the Foundation’s activities from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.
The report highlights the Eclipse Foundation’s continued growth and evolution over the past year. It highlights that 58 new member organizations joined the Foundation over the period of the report. The report also acknowledges the impact of the global pandemic on the Foundation and its members, which along with the Foundation’s redomiciling as a European-based not-for-profit, resulted in what was truly a transformative year for the Foundation.
The many contributions of our members and committers are also highlighted, which show the significant impact our community is making. Your contributions to our collective success are appreciated.

Working Group Process Revisions Approved
The Eclipse Foundation's board of directors approved a revised version of the Eclipse Foundation Working Group Process at its most recent meeting. Since the last update to the process in June 2019, a great deal has changed. We have grown to now have a complement of 17 working groups and these working groups are diverse both in their goals and their related activities. Additionally, the Eclipse Foundation has updated its bylaws to support the redomiciling of the Foundation as a Belgian-based international not-for-profit association.
The recent working group process update ensures that the process matches our current practices, aligns with our new bylaws, clarifies working group roles and responsibilities, and more accurately articulates our best practices in working group governance and operations. The update does not include any material modifications to the current operations of working groups, or the various roles and responsibilities of participants, but instead clarifies both.
An information session was held for interested parties on Monday, July 19, 2021 where the revisions were highlighted via a presentation. A recording of the session can be found here. We welcome any further comments or feedback which can be raised via the Google Document or the related GitLab Issue.

Aloxy Case Study Highlights IIoT Startup
Our latest member case study highlights Antwerp-based IIoT startup Aloxy.
Aloxy has leveraged open source technology to build products based on Eclipse Foundation projects, including Eclipse Hono and Eclipse Ditto. Contributing to these stable, open source components has also created new business opportunities for Aloxy, introducing them to major customers in the petro-chemical industry.
We encourage all members to work with the Foundation's marketing team to tell their Eclipse Foundation story by participating in our case study program. Please fill out our case study inquiry form if you would like to discuss this opportunity.
