You will recall the Foundation updated its Committer and Contribution Agreements last fall, and we have been contacting members, committers and contributors during the first half of 2019. For a reminder of the motivation, please revisit Mike’s blog.
As we are nearing the end of this campaign, we would like to share the following status:
Eclipse Individual Committer Agreements
Following several communications, we have now sent final notices to Individual Committers who have not yet updated to the Individual Committer Agreement Version 4.0. We truly hope individual committers will give this their full attention in order to avoid having their committer account temporarily locked until we receive the required updated agreement.
If you have not heard from us and feel you should have or if you are unsure of your status, please reach out to emo_records@eclipse.org.
Eclipse Contributor Agreements
All Eclipse Contribution Agreements that predated Version 3.0 have been expired. If you need to sign a new one, please resign it here.
Member Committer and Contributor Agreements
Eclipse specification projects are distinct projects intended to enable contributions of intellectual property rights including patent rights. As a result, member organizations wishing to participate in Eclipse specification projects must execute this updated agreement. As a result, our Membership Co-ordination Team have been engaging personally with our members.
Member organizations that have not yet executed or updated their Member Committer Agreement may do so by contacting Eclipse Membership.
As a reminder, as a benefit of the new Member Committer and Contributor Agreement, employees of member organizations that have executed the updated Agreement no longer need to execute a separate Individual Committer Agreement nor an Eclipse Contributor Agreement.
Please feel free to visit our FAQ on this topic. Any questions, comments, or concerns may be sent to license@eclipse.org.
Thank you to the Eclipse Community for your support of this campaign and for helping make Eclipse a great community for creating innovative technologies through both specifications and software using a vendor-neutral process!
