APRIL 2018 EDITION

FOUNDATION UPDATES

NEW ECLIPSE FOUNDATION WEBSITE AND LOGO

The role of our Foundation continues to evolve. To better reflect these changes, we have been working on creating a new distinct logo for the Foundation that is separate from the Eclipse projects, as well as revamping the look and feel for www.eclipse.org.

The main goal of the redesign is to clearly differentiate the Eclipse Foundation from the Eclipse IDE. We wanted the new website and new logo to reflect the Foundation as a collective of open source projects, working groups, members, and individual committers - all collaborating in the same space to create innovative technologies.

ECLIPSECON FRANCE ANNOUNCES THE PROGRAM

The program is ready! We had a record number of submissions, including a significant number of talks related to Jakarta EE and Eclipse MicroProfile. To better accommodate the increased breadth of the conference, we have added another room to the conference on Wednesday.

Thank you to the community for submitting, and to the program committee for choosing what is shaping up to be the strongest EclipseCon France program ever.
To register for this event (June 13 - 14 in Toulouse), click here, and don’t forget to register for the Unconference (June 12) at the same time.

NEW JAKARTA EE WORKING GROUP CREATED

The new Jakarta EE Working Group has been created! Thank you to the founding members for their diligence in driving forward with the creation of the working group.

To follow the working group, please subscribe to the jakarta.ee-wg@eclipse.org mailing list.  Foundation members are welcome to join the working group, and may do so by indicating their intent on the mailing list.

The various committees that comprise the Jakarta EE Working Group are being created, and elections for committee positions will be held in early May. More information on the committees will be posted on the mailing list within the next few days.

JAKARTA EE LOGO VOTE

Thank you to everyone who participated in the community vote to select a graphic logo for Jakarta EE.  We received over 2,000 votes.

The chosen logo will be announced on the Jakarta EE community mailing list no later than April 27.
