Eclipse Babel Project Development Meeting: 2/11/08
Attendees:

  1. Jess Garms to Leave as an Eclipse Committer
  2. Server-side Translation Project Update – Denis
    1. Tried importing the 3.2 translated strings
    2. Had discussions w/ Kit and should be Escape Unicode as that is how they are formatted now
  3. EclipseCon
    1. Working on presentation deadline by Sunday
      1. We need to send it in for printing/loading onto conference memory sticks
      2. Once he’s done we can provide feedback
    2. Just submitted a BOF session – accepted
      1. Introduce to the Community
      2. Collect some new ideas/enhancements for the project
    3. Need to plan a working session for our committers
      1. We will meet at the hotel bar at 5pm on Monday to get acquainted with one another and will decide on meeting for a longer Working session that week

  4. We need to come up Critical Bug list to entice people to join Babel
    1. Bug List (WIP):
      1. Must finish 3.2 translations into the server before EclipseCon
      2. There are duplicating languages in the list that we need to fix
  5. We need to have a release plan:
    1. Should we have a release number?
    2. Kit and Chris to discuss after the call
    3. In order to do a release, you have to have approval from the EMO and we should have a release review
      1. Need to discuss this during EclipseCon
      2. ACTION: put a link to point to release review (Kit to send to Chris)
